The ghatam is a clay pot that is also a musical instrument — one of the oldest percussion traditions in Carnatic music, documented in the Natya Shastra. In skilled hands, it has more tonal range than a drum kit. What you're buying is not sound files. You're buying 30+ years of practice, captured in one session in Chennai. The Artist: Shankar is a percussionist, having learnt the mridangam in his early years. Part of multiple performance groups and bands, he brings a sense of fusion built in to his percussion that is ready to blend in with EDM or Hip Hop and Cinematic tracks.
