This sample pack includes over 150 original sounds produced and curated through an Australia-Fiji artistic collaboration initiated by ICDP. The project brought together both young and established musicians to showcase the rich and diverse sonic tapestry that distinguishes the traditional music of the islands of Fiji. This pack offers a range of instrumental, vocal and ambience samples. There is the evocative call of the Davui conch shell and versatile pulsating beats played on the Lali, a Fijian drum carved from a single log of wood. There are joyful shouts and cries from traditional Fijian dancing, as well as short vocals influenced by old Fijian chants distinctive in their pitch and tonal patterns. The sample pack also includes several atmospheric field recordings, from the rush of rising tides and waves beating at the reef to bats screeching against the backdrop of a busy city.
