The golden age of hip-hop is a treasure trove of classically sourced drum breaks. From the Amen, to the Funky Drummer, and the Apache break, hip-hop and contemporary music just wouldn’t be the same without these legendary sampled pieces of music. These very breaks, and many more, have now been re-recorded and repurposed for you to use as royalty, and copyright-free loops in your own productions. Performed by James Johnson, then produced, mixed and arranged by producer and DJ Rory Carlile [Dirty Beatniks, The Wyo's, INXS, Tricky], these classic breaks were recorded at Cowshed Studio, London using vintage analog gear, to accurately capture the character and sound of older recordings. Using only classic microphones that would have been used on the original recordings, each edit was then mastered down to quarter inch tape- as they would have been recorded in the late sixties to seventies. With Classic Breaks and Beats you can now get that authentic and original hip-hop feel, professionally recorded to be as accurate and authentic sounding as the real thing.
